Aaron reinke, PHD

Associate Professor/Principal Investigator

I received my Ph.D. in 2012 from MIT, where I worked on protein-protein interactions in Amy Keating's lab. I then began  studies on microsporidia and C. elegans in the group of Emily Troemel at UCSD. I am excited to be in Toronto where I started the lab in September of 2017!

Winnie Zhao

Lab technician

Winnie keeps the lab from falling apart.  She is also dissecting genetic pathways that induce an inherited immune response.

Molecular Genetics graduate student

Angcy is applying genomic approaches to investigate the natural variation in how C. elegans interacts with different microsporidia species.

Yin Chen Wan

Molecular Genetics graduate student

Yin is investigating genetic variants that contribute to disease susceptibility caused by bacterial pathogens.

 
 
 

Ed James, PhD

EPIC Postdoctoral fellow

Ed previously studied symbiosis between bacteria and aphids in the Wilson lab.  He is currently exploring the reliance of microsporidia on host metabolism.

Jonathan Tersigni

Molecular Genetics graduate student

Jonathan is investigating mechanisms of microsporidia invasion and host specificity.

P. M. Shreenidhi, PhD

EPIC Postdoctoral fellow

Shreenidhi carried out her PhD studes at Washington University in St. Louis in the labs of Joan Strassmann and David Queller, where she worked on predator prey interactions between Dictyostelium discoideum and various soil bacteria.  She is currently exploring the genetic basis of host range restriction of microsporidian parasites.
